Before you visit the billing desk
Many apps ship a printable handout for the hospital billing desk. Here is ours: tick what you brought mentally, note questions, then use your browser's Print or Save as PDF. BillSense hides the site header and footer when you print so the checklist stays clean.
Bring (if you have them)
- Latest itemized GST bill
- Interim / running bills if separate
- Discharge summary
- Operation notes or procedure sheet
- Lab and imaging reports you were given
- Insurance card + pre-auth letter
- Final approval / short-pay letter
- Photo ID (some counters ask)
- List of medicines bought outside
Questions families often forget to ask
- “Please show how each page of charges rolls into the final total on the last page.”
- “Which lines are package-included versus add-on?”
- “Can you print a reconciliation of insurer-paid versus patient-pay balance?”
- “Which room category and dates are coded on this invoice?”
